Welcome to my blog, today I have with me a very important person to me and to this generation. We are privileged to have gotten a reply for her to be interviewed here and believe me, this is one of a kind. Be blessed as you read

I am particularly emotional as I interviewed her and as I edited and even though I had been her friend for few years, I never knew this and as I read it, it touched my life again.

In the studio, Ojo kehinde enters…

Faithfulwrites: Welcome to our blog, can we meet you ma?

Kehinde: My name is Kehinde Oluwanifemi, last in a family of 8. I am a medical laboratory scientist

Faithfulwrites: How was it growing up for you?

Kehinde: Growing up was fun, I had my permanent best friend to play with at all times, and  you know as per last born everybody will automatically care and love you very much.

Faithfulwrites: When was the turnaround time for you as a person?

Kehinde: Turnaround for me as a person, I will say that happened when I really knew God and started building a relationship with Him

I can boldly say that my life had changed for the better.

Faithfulwrites: Share few lessons you have learnt in the last one year

Kehinde: The most important lesson I have learnt is that a life without God is useless and meaningless.

That addiction you are dealing with you can’t stop it with your understanding or by listening to messages and the likes ( it helps though) but until you get tired of that particular thing, until you are ready to submit to God and allow Him take control you will just be going in cycles

2. There is a time for everyone, that you are not yet there doesn’t mean you won’t get there just prayerfully follow God and He will direct your path.

Faithfulwrites: Going in circles, hmmm! Thanks for sharing. What has been your greatest challenge as a Christian or like what have you struggled with and how you overcame?

Kehinde: Hmmm, you know when I first saw this question I wanted to skip and say no,  but the Holy Spirit pointed out to me that what if depriving someone,so here I am

Kehinde:  What have I struggled with as a Christian?‍♀

Before I gave my life to Christ, an incident happened in school that made me to become addicted to masturbation and porn, and even after giving my life to Christ I expected it to just go away on its own(maybe because I was not discipled) but it was like there was no difference

I struggled with this for more than five years. It got to a point I had to intentionally hurt myself because I was already getting depressed

Kehinde: I still didn’t stop, I knew I  was hurting God but it’s like the more I want to stop the more the urge kept getting stronger, I reached out to a lot of people and they really tried their  best but I still didn’t stop, Immediately I went back to God and really cried and prayed for genuine salvation and Sanctification

Then He heard me, touched me and saved me.

And since then He has been helping me and by the grace of God I can say that I have been delivered from the evil addiction

Kehinde:  Then one day I got tired of the life

I realised that there was nothing to this porn I was watching, It was just the same thing over and over again. I asked myself “Is it worth it?”

Kehinde: Then I stumbled upon a post on Facebook that if you are dealing with masturbation you can’t just stop at once it will be gradual so I consoled myself with this, but deep down I knew it was a lie but what could I do?

So early this year I gave in to the urge and I was like God cannot forgive me again jor ( because I have made countless number of promises) I was just there like I was just empty

Faithfulwrites: This is deep! What practical way has also helped and what can you tell those still dealing with me after many years, will it go with time?

Kehinde: Hmmm, this saying of it will go with time is a big lie. I won’t agree with it because it just gives you an excuse to go back to it over and over again.

Overcoming masturbation and ponography

What I can say is that you have to first of all see that you have a problem and you need divine intervention, you have to recognise this addiction as a sin, then you need to ask yourself if this masturbation/ porn is really worth loosing God for?

Faithfulwrites: You already were a believer and worked in his vineyard right?

Kehinde: Yes, though I tried to dulge responsibilities in church because I knew what I was dealing with.

Faithfulwrites: Hmmnn, addiction isn’t a place of ‘you are already saved, then it goes’ and no amount of service to God can replace it. So people saved for many years may still be battling with it even as they work for God!

Kehinde: With that knowing, if your answer is no, you sincerely go to God and ask for forgiveness, ask Him to purge you

Then you constantly renew your mind in His word ( get addicted to His Presence and His word) and He will help you

You can also reach out to your spiritual mentors so you can be accountable to someone.

Faithfulwrites: How did songs affect you? Did it have any effect on the addiction?

Kehinde: It affected me greatly ,there are some songs/ videos that trigger this urge like they make you want to do some dirty things. Like it fuels that desire and before you know it you find yourself falling again.

Kehinde:Once you renew your mind with God’s word daily those songs become repulsive to you

My dear the only sure way is renewing your mind with the word of God daily, this will help a lot, having it at the back of your mind that there is nothing worth loosing God for also helps.

Do away with films or novels that brings out the urge, and whenever the feeling comes ; just speak out and rebuke that spirit immediately and it will disappear.

Faithfulwrites: This is surely blessing someone, I have shivers already that’s transcending to the Spirit realm.

Any words for faithfulwrites herself and all her readers?

16 Replies to “I OVERCAME PORNOGRAPHY JUST RECENTLY: An interview with Ojo Kehinde

  1. This is really a blessing… God bless you Sis. Kenny, he’ll keep you and make you a light. Keep living in Victory

  2. This post moved me to tears. Mama Faith, please permit me to comment with a song.. Thanks to Calvary I am not the man I used to be
Thanks to Calvary things are different than before.
And as the tears ran down my face I tried to tell them (him)(her),
Thanks to Calvary, I don’t come (live) here anymore.

God bless you faithy for this set platform to touch lives.

  3. Sister kenny , thanking you for sharing. May the grace you received from God be sufficient for you in moments of intense temptation.

To that one person , As you stumble upon this post , if you’re still struggling with pornography, fight to remember the life-changing truth of the gospel. Let that truth drive you to moment of confession and repentance. Be like the woman who wept at Jesus’ feet because she knew her sin was great but knew her Savior was better. Lastly, from sister Kenny; always renew your mind with his word daily.

  4. Hmmmm….. quite inspiring. I’m a living example of someone addicted to this thing and still struggling to stop it. I can really imagine all she said about it bcos I’m presently in those shoes. Will follow your advice also and I really look forward to giving a testimony like that of Kehinde to inspire others too when I have finally overcome. Thanks, yea, real thanks
    God bless you

  5. We simply have no strength… who even told us we can help ourselves. God’s help or nothing….
